Moor Lionz delivers a workshop once a week on Mondays 7 – 9pm on the physical, mental and spiritual aspect of well-being. The organisation is taking on holistic approach on what we should and should not be eating. This is done through workshops where we carry out the examination of our diet and daily intake of food. Discuss the effects of what happens to your body when we eat certain types of food. There are suggested diets that we should eat and natural things that are recommended for the healing and well-being of our temple. During these workshops you can either take part in one of these suggested eating menu plans as well as book exercise lessons that are tailored to suit your needs. We investigated illnesses such as mental health, diabetes, prostate cancer, sickle Celle just to mention a few and looked into what we eat and how changing our eating habits can change these conditions.
Meditation
Moor Lionz organisation delivers meditation workshops. Taking a deeper look at the inner you and helping for you to get to know thy self.
Meditation is the area of finding peace and happiness within by using simple methods of calling and establishing our minds. Life can be very stressful and very busy most of the time we are carried along by the force of emotions, habits and conditioning, this results in us feeling tired and stressed by everyday life. Practising meditation can change this. It can bring about a natural sense of peace and wellbeing that can extend to every aspect of our lives.
Meditation done regularly can bring about better sleeping patterns, allow you to handle ups and downs of daily lives with more clarity and ease and relate to others with more compassion and warmth. Meditation helps to simply calm down our minds. When the mind is agitated, we experience a continual round of worries, upset and anxiety. With this happening, it is almost impossible to be happy, even if we are surround by luxurious things and living in wonderful conditions. Meditation helps our mind gradually to become more peaceful as it calms down. When this happens we begin to understand the essentially illusory nature of all our mental experience and through this insight we begin to feel compassion for everyone else who is likewise still struggling with pain and adversity in their lives. We start to see the beauty of life all around us and begin to connect with people and things that really matter most of all.

Chess Nights
For long chess has been considered as a game played by intellectual individual with critical thinking abilities. However, the fact is that chess can be played by people of all ages and mind sets. Chess is extremely helpful in brain development, particularly when it is played regularly from a very early age. This improves learning, thinking, analytical power and decision making ability. This helps to be disciplined in life.
Chess helps to do a thorough analysis, research and assessment of the situation before making any decision. This exercise provides mental clarity. Mental clarity and mental dexterity is required for solving problems, analysis, consequences and formulate future tactics. Children who learn chess playing from an early age exhibit extraordinary memory skills. Learning how to solve a problem is more important than learning the solution to any particular problem. Chess is very important.
Prison Support
Moor Lionz delivers prison support workshops/legal self-defence. This is designed for people in the community who has a friend or family member in prisons. Sometimes it helps to have some support especially if it’s the first time you are having to deal with the prison system and how it works e.g. sending postal orders, arranging prison visits, and help with fears to visit an inmate. It is also good sometimes to meet other people that are experiencing the same issues. Having a friend or family member inside can sometimes be a very scary ordeal, not knowing what to do or expect. It’s not only the prisoner that is doing the sentence, the friends family of the inmate are also doing the sentence. It effects everyone that loves and cares for the inmate. Moor Lionz is there to support you through this hard time from the beginning to the end and also after.
Common Law
We address information surrounding your rights, court proceedings, being arrested or questioned by the police and appropriate adult advice etc. This gives the younger generation a great head start allowing them to ackowledge their rights and now how to handle themselves when in situations revolving the police.

Bridging a generational gap
This workshop put on by Moor Lionz organisation is designed with the aim for different generations within our community to better understand each other. To get closer with children, grandchildren, grandparents or child adults and elders. Adults and elders need to know the issues that can separate them. More often there are simple variations in how the different generations live their lives. The greatest different perceived between the generations is the way technology has advanced and now plays a very big part in everyday life. There is a lack of understand between older and younger people that is caused by their different experiences, opinions and behaviours, values, attitudes, work ethnics, it’s something that need so to be looked at and addressed. It’s time to go back to our roots where we respected our elders and the saying “it takes a village to raise a child” was in place.
